Rudy Lantano, a Filipino inventor

rudy-lantano The world consumes oil as fast as it can get its hands on it…75 million barrels a day and continues to rise yearly. By 2030, according to the International Energy Agency, consumption will go to as high as 120 million barrels a day.Will oil be depleted soon? Would there still be enough oil left for the next generation to come? Scientists and industrialists are finding out ways to reduce the consumption of this fossil fuel.

Vehicle is one of the major route of oil consumption. A study has been made about the possibility of diluting gasoline with water. Can we really add water to gasoline?

Surprisingly, the answer is a big YES, it is already possible to add water to gasoline. A solution to the oil crisis is at hand. Thanks to the work of a Filipino scientist Rudy Lantano for making this 50-50 water and fuel mixture idea possible. Lantano’s propriety oil water mixture, the Alco-diesel, Lan-gas and Superbunker Formula L (SBFL) gave him worldwide reconition when he won the 1996 Gold Prize of World Intellectual Property Organization for the Most Outstanding Invention in Geneva Switzerland.

Lantano’s invention gives the following benefits:

environment friendly because of its low sulfur content
protects and lengthens the engine life because of its unique lubricating property
enables easier startups
higher combustion power

When tested in a C220 engine, it can run at 10 kms per liter as compared to the conventional 6 km per liter diesel

Lantano’s invention provide an infinite and promising possibility of making Philippines the most eco friendly country in the world. It takes time though to convince the general public to convert from fossil fuel to the water-gasoline fuel.

Refilling stations in Bicutan, Taguig and San Pedro, Laguna have already been put up by Lantano. He still continues to convince other businessmen in the US, Thailand, and all parts of the world to shift to this method.

Lantano revealed that as part of the commercialization process, he has put up and operate strategically located gas stations, bearing the signage of Lan-Gas and patronized by a number of industries, car owners and jeepney drivers.
